The top protective layer is stuck under the edges and the top is not a solid surface and bubbled everywhere--it will fovever need a table cloth over it to be used without embarassment.

(1) The color is not the same. The one in the picture is more brownish.The one I got was a lot lighter than what I thought I was getting.They should put up a close top view of the granite so customers can see the color, pattern, etc.
(2) SLOW shipping.I just got this table yesterday, 6/28.I originally placed the order 5/3.I waited 1 week before I finally asked them the status of my order?They told me there was a backlog and it would be a couple more weeks.So I called the 3rd week, they said they are waiting for it to come from over seas and would be another month.Its nicer to know these things up front.

This is coming from Viet Nam.If you place an order, I dont think they stock this, so double check on the date.

Please note, I did not buy this through Amazon, but they all used the same vendor, Hillsdale.Hillsdale is the one actually shipping it out in most cases.Everyone else is the middle man I think and do not stock up inventory.

The GOOD.
The table is good quality I think.The granite was one piece.My mom has a granite table with 2 pieces glued together (very noticeable).It is HEAVY though!!!It was not easy for me to find a light colored granite table Texas or online, so I put up with the slow shipping.

Overall, if I had to do it again, i would prob make this purchase despite the color and shipping issue.

Bistro Metal & Wood Dining Tea Table & 2 Chairs 3 Piece Set Review

The table is the perfect height, and the curved back of the chairs comfortably cradles my back when sitting. The elegant shape looks lovely without overwhelming the space and is compact enough to fit in a small apartment. The wood is a rich brown-red and the metal legs seem to be black powder-coated. One complaint is that I wish the chair legs had a rubber or plastic foot to avoid scratching my wood floor when they are moved. The table was very easy to assemble, with helpful markings on the wood showing where the legs should attach. The chairs did not have these markings and would have been much easier to assemble if there had been at least a tiny, pre-drilled pinpoint hole showing where the screws attach. After the metal legs were assembled, I found the best angle to attach the wood seat was lying on my back under the chair (like a car mechanic). Even so, I am very happy with this furniture.

It has the drop-leaves,so I pull them up and have extra table for guests. The stools are very comfortable and the best thing is the extra storage( bigger than it looks in the picture) that I need!The counter height adds some dimension, and I love the color.
However, I was fortunate to have someone to put it together..and fix it. One stool's leg came broken..and the storage compartment needed fixed,also. Nothing major...not enough to send it back...Other than that, this is a great set!

(More customer reviews)The table and chairs look nice and my husband had no trouble putting them together.The color was almost exactly what it looked like online.The problem is that the wood is so soft that when you write directly on the table, it marks it.We have solved the problem by getting a custom glass top made, but we definitely hadn't planned on doing that.If you have kids, I definitely would NOT recommend this table (unless you want to spend some extra cash on a glass top).

It looks just as good in person as it does online. The hardest part about assembling the table is opening the box. Putting the legs on is a snap. I am very happy with the table. It appears to be of good quality and will easily sit 4, and possibly up to 6 people. If you want a solid rectangular table with natural finish at a decent price, this is the table for you.

Only drawback is size of seat on bar stools. They measure 12" deep by 16" wide -- tried and tried to find cushions and finally had to purchase Sunbrella fabric and make myself (too expensive to have made). This set looks great with the matching Deep seating love seat, coffee table, chair and ottamon.

I also found it quite easy to put together and I am not handy at all... the leaf that goes in the center to make it oval shaped is also great bc you can either have a round or oval shaped table, when I purchased this table I didn't realize this--great feature! I also bought 4 of the matching chairs with this set and they are really sturdy and have a comfy mocha colored bottom, really happy with both purchases!
