It has the drop-leaves,so I pull them up and have extra table for guests. The stools are very comfortable and the best thing is the extra storage( bigger than it looks in the picture) that I need!The counter height adds some dimension, and I love the color.
However, I was fortunate to have someone to put it together..and fix it. One stool's leg came broken..and the storage compartment needed fixed,also. Nothing major...not enough to send it back...Other than that, this is a great set!

Only problem during construction is the instructions have incorrect numbers for parts on a few of the initial drawings- part numbers for screws and washers are labelled wrong on the drawings, and it took awhile to figure out the correct parts they were indicating, a screw and washer, not 2 screws! However, once assembled, they look great and feel sturdy.

The directions were not very good & they were a bit difficult and time-consuming to assemble, but it was worth the effort. They are comfy and look great. There were just a few scuff marks on the wood, but they would be there in a month anyway. Overall, I'm very pleased.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the cherry wood colored set just last week.As an amazon prime member, the free shipping was great as shipping on other similar items w/o prime is $40-50.The package comes in one large box, with the items protected by styrofoam.Putting the table together was really easy with the tool that comes in the kit. Putting the two stools together was a little more complicated and required a screw driver and some arm work to drive the screws into the legs of the stool. Overall I got the whole thing set up in about 30-40 minutes.

The wood is a handsome deep cherry.The construction is solid and quite steady.The stools are sturdy as well and comfortable to sit on.The brown leather of the stool seats is quite soft and nicely textured.

Drawbacks to the table include that it isn't wide enough to fit two normally sized placemats across from each other.The short end of the table top is wide enough to fit a normal sized place mat but is uncomfortable for sitting at either end because of the bars which run vertically to support the table.

Overall this is a fantastic little table for a New York apartment. Definitely worth the $120 or so price tag.

(More customer reviews)These stools are very sturdy with thick, square legs. They're too tall for use around a kitchen table, but great for bars, work benches, tall counters, art tables, or any place a tall stool is needed.

It's great that they come fully assembled -- no hours spent driving screws only to wind up with a wobbly piece. These don't wobble at all; they're put together very well. I was surprised at how heavy they are, but that just makes them feel solid. They have a nice finish too.

And the seats are perfectly flat, which is handy if you ever want to use the stools to double as small, tall round tables.

(More customer reviews)I ordered a set of 4 and 3 of them had pretty big nics out of them.I was able to mix and match pieces and end up with 3 pretty good stools.The last one I returned and recieved a replacement with minimal nics.

The nics don't seem to be a result of packaging and seem, in my opion, to have been packaged that way.I wondered if the were seconds.

If you don't mind the nics, they are sturdy and I LOVE the color!
